My favorite summer read thus far: The ONE Thing

So many great things to take from this book. Here are a few notes:

Your ONE Thing:

What’s the ONE Thing you can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary? Summertime is here. Block off a few days to unplug. Ask yourself this question. It’s a game changer.

Dream big. Aim small:

We are capable of far more than we can even imagine. When my time here is up, I want to know I sucked the marrow out of life. This internal drive has always been part of me. The problem I often face is trying to tackle too much at once. Experience has taught me (and this book confirms) we can only be great at ONE Thing. Focus your time and energy. My ONE Thing? To create a company that makes fitness simple for busy moms and dads.

Block out four hours each day for your ONE Thing:

My system up to this point was to write down seven things to accomplish the following work day with the first two things being things that lift me up. Eg: Workout + Spiritual Growth, etc. This leaves me five work activities to accomplish for the day. This book encourages you to block out four hours after your morning workout to focus on your ONE Thing. Give your attention and your best energy to this one task. Then after lunch start to work on the rest. After reading this book, my daily list is decreasing from seven to five daily tasks. Pumped to see where this type of focus takes TMAC FITNESS.
